Counselor in Training
Experience Camp Like a Woodruff Staff Member
The Woodruff Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is designed for Scouts who want to experience life as a Woodruff Scout Camp staff member while building leadership skills and growing in confidence and responsibility. This program provides a fun, structured environment where participants receive mentorship, leadership training, and personal development—while still enjoying the camp experience.
Whether you’re hoping to join camp staff in the future or simply want a more advanced Scouting experience, the CIT program is a great next step.
What You’ll Do as a CIT
As a CIT, you’ll have the opportunity to step into a leadership-focused role while still enjoying the best parts of camp. During the program, CITs will:
- Experience camp life as a Woodruff staff member
- Receive leadership training and personal development opportunities
- Support camp programs and staff in meaningful ways
- Participate in camp culture, teamwork, and responsibility-building experiences
- Explore two merit badge periods per week during the program
This program is designed to help Scouts grow as leaders while still offering advancement opportunities and a memorable camp experience.
Staff Week Opportunity (May 23–30, 2026)
CITs are welcome to attend Staff Week, held May 23–30, 2026. Staff Week is a unique opportunity to see how camp comes to life before the summer begins and to be part of the energy, preparation, and teamwork that makes Woodruff special.
Staff Week is FREE!
Staff Week is included at no charge for CIT participants.
Cost & Value
The Woodruff CIT program is one of the best values at camp:
- $250 for the first week
- $250 for the second week

That’s 3 weeks of camp for $500!
CITs pay only $250 per week, excluding Staff Week (which is included at no charge). Program fees cover food and housing during your time at camp.

Weekend Stay & Staff Community
CITs stay at camp over weekends between sessions, giving them even more opportunities to experience the Woodruff staff culture. Weekend time may include participation in various staff events, camp activities, and community-building opportunities.
Meals are included during “off time” periods as well, so CITs remain supported throughout their full camp experience.
